Description
The building is a barn and adjoining stable located to the south of Manor Farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with the stable partly rebuilt in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features clay pantile roofs with stone ridge copings and brick gable copings.
On the south side of the barn, there is an external stair made of concrete and stone steps, leading to a boarded loft door, and a blocked dog kennel. The ground floor has chevron-pattern breathers, and there is a cart opening with a timber lintel and mid-20th century sliding doors below a partly-boarded opening on the first floor. The north side has a stone plinth and a reduced cart opening with a timber beam and mid-20th century sliding doors. There are two first-floor openings, one with glazing and hit-and-miss design on the left, and a boarded door on the right. The east gable end has blocked openings, and there is a stepped brick eaves cornice. The roof is hipped at the east end.
The lower stable, which adjoins the west gable end, features stable doors and windows with hit-and-miss glazing on the north face, and a buttress on the south face, with the roof hipped at the west end. This building is included for its group value.
