Description

The building is a stables and groom's cottage located about 20 yards northwest of Carrycoats Hall, dating from the 1830s. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a Welsh slate roof. The structure is L-shaped, comprising a two-storey carriage house on the left, a single-storey cottage to the right, and lean-to stables at the rear.

The carriage house has a projecting section with double plank doors set in a segmental-arched chamfered surround, along with a pitching door above that also has a chamfered surround. On the right return, there is a 12-pane sash window with a similar surround.

The cottage to the right has a two-bay design, featuring a plank door and a 6-pane sash window, both framed by similar surrounds. The roof is gabled with ridged coping and kneelers, and there are stone corniced end stacks. The stables at the rear include two stable doors and two windows, all with similar surrounds.
