Description
This pair of milestones, dating from the 18th century to the early 19th century, is located approximately a quarter mile west of the A68 in Northumberland. They are made of sandstone. The earlier milestone is arched and stands about 2 feet high, inscribed with "from Alnwick xxxv H Hexham." The later milestone is triangular and measures around 18 inches high, marked with "8" for Hexham on one face and "RB" for Rothbury on the other.
