Description
Milestone located approximately a quarter of a mile east of Lordenshaw, dating from the mid-18th century. It is made of sandstone and stands about 18 inches high, featuring two faces and a rounded back. One face is inscribed with "RB" for Rothbury, while the other has "H" for Hexham. This milestone marks the Rothbury - Hexham Turnpike, which was opened around 1751.
