Description
The orangery located to the east of Swinburne Castle is a late 18th-century structure built of ashlar stone. It is a single-storey building designed in the Adam style, featuring one bay on the left and three bays that curve forward slightly on the right. The left bay includes a glazed double door with an overlight that is slightly recessed.
The three right bays are flanked by pairs of engaged Tuscan columns, with single columns positioned between the bays. Each bay contains tall 12-pane sash windows, although the lower halves of these windows have been boarded up. The building is adorned with a fluted frieze that includes paterae, a dentilled cornice, and a plain parapet.
