Description
This is a milepost located 520 metres south of Percy Cross, likely from the early 20th century, made by Smith Patterson Ltd. of Blaydon. It is constructed from cast iron and painted white with black figures. The milepost features a shield-shaped plaque displaying the distances to Cornhill (20 miles) and Morpeth (24 miles), set on a circular shaft. Below this, there is a lower rectangular plate indicating Wooler (7 miles) and a maker's plate underneath. The overall height of the milepost is 0.7 metres.
