8/3 Farmbuildings North of New Bewick Farmhouse

GV II

Farmbuildings. Mid C19. Dressed stone. Welsh slate roofs. 3 covered stockyards, with dovecote to right; 1½ storey and 2 storey barns to left. Stockyards have gables filled with segmentally arched wood boarding. Dovecote,with offices beneath, has pyramidal roof with wrought iron vane. Steep bargeboarded cross gables, 2 with arched recesses containing stone pigeonholes; another gable has round-headed window with 2-light mullioned window beneath. Band above 1st floor. Smaller barn has segmental-arched entrance in square recess for sliding door. Low pointed-arched window above with slatted bars. 2-storey barn with gable end to road has stabling with granary over.

Single-storey offices to right of courtyard not of special interest.
