Description

The farm buildings north of New Bewick Farmhouse date from the mid-19th century and are constructed of dressed stone with Welsh slate roofs. The complex features three covered stockyards, with a dovecote to the right. The stockyards are designed with gables that have segmentally arched wood boarding. The dovecote, which has offices beneath it, is topped with a pyramidal roof and a wrought iron vane.

The buildings include steep bargeboarded cross gables, two of which have arched recesses that contain stone pigeonholes. Another gable features a round-headed window with a two-light mullioned window below it. There is a band above the first floor. One smaller barn has a segmental-arched entrance set in a square recess for a sliding door, with a low pointed-arched window above that has slatted bars. The two-storey barn, which has its gable end facing the road, contains stabling with a granary above.

To the right of the courtyard, there are single-storey offices that are not of special interest.
