Description
The farm buildings located approximately 50 yards east of Spindlestone Farmhouse date from the mid-19th century and are constructed from snecked stone with a Welsh slate roof. The layout consists of four ranges surrounding a stock yard. The main facade features a central, tall, cross-gabled carriage entry that has a round arch with imposts, keystones, a chamfered surround, and boarded double doors. Above this entry, there is a dovecote in the gable with three rows of pigeon holes and stone alighting ledges.
To the left, there are single-storey ranges that include a cartshed and a forge, which are characterized by two segmental arches, a boarded door, and a half-shuttered window. To the right, there are byres with four boarded doors. The roof is gabled.
At the rear, there is an engine house featuring a tall, square, brick chimney with a cornice. On the left side, there is a large open cattle shed, while the range on the right side includes byres on the ground floor and a granary above. In the center, there is a range of six pig sties.
