Description
Hoppen Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of dressed stone, with later sections made of snecked stone, and features a Welsh slate roof and 19th-century brick chimneys. The main block has two parallel gabled wings at the rear.
The building is two storeys high and has five irregular bays. It has a chamfered plinth and an almost central six-panel door. The windows are four-pane sashes set in their original openings, although the second window on the first floor has been blocked. The roof is gabled, with corniced end stacks and a ridge stack.
Inside, there is an early 18th-century staircase with turned balusters, a broad moulded and ramped handrail, and a closed string, along with a panelled dado. The interior also features six-panel doors and shutters.
