Description

Milestone located 110 metres south of the Vicarage in Longhirst Village, dating from the late 18th century. It is made of sandstone and has a single stone with a triangular plan resting on a partly-buried square base, standing 0.5 meters tall. The milestone is partly encased in a later wall and is inscribed with "MORPETH (CR) ESSWELL III VI MILES".
