Description

This is a milepost located approximately half a mile east of Humbleton Buildings, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands about 18 inches high. The milepost has a triangular shape with a rounded back and a canted top. One side is inscribed with "MOR" for Morpeth, while the other side features "32 COR" for Cornhill, and the top is marked with "L E" for London and Edinburgh.
