Description
Thistleyhaugh Farmhouse is a house built in the second quarter of the 19th century, possibly incorporating older materials. The rear wing was extended and the interior was remodeled around 1905. The building is constructed from squared tooled stone with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three bays. It features a plinth and a left-of-centre renewed door, along with 16-pane sash windows that have slightly-projecting sills. All openings are framed in chamfered alternating-block surrounds. The end stacks are stepped and corniced. The right side of the building shows a similar ground-floor window, and the rear wing on the right has two bays with 12- and 16-pane sash windows; the right part is an addition designed in the same style.
The heightened rear outshut and the single-storey outbuildings to the north-west are not considered of special interest.
