Description

BRINKBURN BRINKHEUGH NZ 19 NW 10/81 Garden walls with gatepiers and attached privy, to south of Brinkheugh Farmhouse GV II

Garden walls, gatepiers and privy. Late C17 except for C19 privy. Coursed rubble with cut dressings; pantile roof on privy. West wall joins south-west corner of house: 2.5 metres high with sloped rubble coping. South wall, formerly with railings, 0.6 metre high; south gateway has rusticated piers with attached jambs, pulvinated friezes and moulded caps with ball finials on swept bases (both finials and one base on ground alongside at time of survey). East wall ruinous in parts; pent privy on external face near north end has boarded door and small window. At north end wall returns to link to south-east corner of outbuilding; C20 garage attached to external face of this part is not of interest.
