Description
The garden walls and attached privy located to the west and south of Ashington Farmhouse date from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. They are constructed from roughly-squared stone with tooled-and-margined dressings, and the privy features a Welsh slate roof. The east wall connects to the farmhouse and includes a gate framed by monolithic arched piers and arched coping. The south wall has similar coping that slopes up to the gatepiers, which are topped with domed caps and ball finials. The taller flat-coped walls on the west and north sides connect back to the house at the east end. There is a boarded door in the north wall, and the pent-roofed privy situated at the angle of the walls has a boarded door and a small part-slatted window. Later sheds attached to the external face of the west wall are not considered of special interest.
