Description

West Edington Farmhouse is a house built in the second quarter of the 19th century, which was refenestrated in the early 20th century. It is constructed from squared tooled stone with cut quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and three symmetrical bays. It features a plinth and a bold hollow-chamfered eaves cornice that continues over the gables. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a patterned overlight above it, and there are 20-pane metal-framed casements throughout, all set in stone surrounds. The low-pitched roof has coped gables and end stacks that are stepped and corniced. The returns display similar casements. On the rear elevation, there is a central 12-pane sash stair window flanked by two similar windows on the left and a two-storey outshut on the right.
