Description

The garden walls and attached summerhouse, located to the east and northeast of the Manor House, were built between 1908 and 1909 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The walls are made of squared stone with cut dressings, while the summerhouse features a brick lining. The structure has an L-shaped wall with the summerhouse positioned at the center of the northern section. The east wall has a flat coping that steps up the slope and includes an ornamental bronze tap set in an elliptical-arched recess near the south end, along with boarded double doors at the north. The north wall has a coping that ramps down to a lower section, which is adorned with four tapering flat-topped finials on either side of the Tuscan summerhouse, which is tetrastyle in antis and has a round window at the rear.
