Description
East End House is a house that was originally built in the early 18th century and later remodeled and heightened in the early 19th century. It features a mid-19th century rear wing and a later 19th century west extension. The building is constructed of rubble with cut dressings, while the rear wing is made of squared tooled stone, and the extensions are built from snecked stone. The roof is covered with Scottish slate.
The south elevation has two storeys and is divided into two sections. The right part, which is the original house, has three bays, a renewed central door, and 12-pane sash windows, with the upper windows also renewed. The left extension has two bays with similar windows and a canted ground-floor bay that features a moulded cornice. The gables are coped, with stepped and banded end and ridge stacks.
The right return gable has coping that returns on deep footstones. The rear elevation includes a 6-panel door with a 2-pane overlight set in an alternating-block surround, a 16-pane sash window to the left, and two blocked 18th-century windows in irregular stone surrounds above. To the right is the rear wing, which has renewed 12-pane sashes.
The interior has not been seen.
