Description

This is a late 18th-century house and shop, situated on the east side of Castle Street in Warkworth. It is constructed of squared and tooled stone with a Welsh slate roof and one brick stack. The building has an L-shaped plan and is arranged over three storeys, with three bays.

The front has a plinth and a central pair of doorways. The right-hand doorway has a six-panel door with an overlight, while the left-hand doorway has been partly blocked with an inserted window. To the left of the doorways is a shop window with a small-paned upper section. The ground floor on the right has a twelve-pane sash window with a letterbox bearing the letterbox of King George VI. A central first-floor window has been blocked, and the end bays have twelve-pane sashes, with six-pane sashes on the top floor. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The left-hand gable has a coping and a banded end stack, while a tall rebuilt end stack is located on the right.

A rear wing extends from the main building, featuring a single-storey end section characterized by its thick walls.
