Description
2 and 4 Market Place is a house and shop dating from the late 18th century. It is built of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and features two bays.
The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight, set within a plain stone surround on a plinth. To the right, there is an early 20th-century shopfront that includes a glazed door, pilasters, consoles, a frieze, and a dentilled cornice. The left bay has a 20th-century bay window.
On the first floor, the left side has a four-pane sash window with a stone lintel and sill, while the right side features a 20th-century bay window with a cornice. The second floor contains two four-pane side-sliding sash windows, each with lintels. The building has end stacks.
