Description

22 Market Place is an 18th-century house that was refaced in the 19th century and is now used as commercial premises. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof. It has three storeys and three bays. The central entrance features a four-panel door with an overlight, set within an elaborate architrave with pilasters, consoles, a frieze and a cornice. Flanking the door are tripartite sash windows. The first floor has three two-light sash windows, each with flat-faced mullions and raised sills. An eaves band runs along the top of the building. There are two gabled dormers, each containing a paired sash window with mullions and a stone coping. Chimneys are located at the ends of the building.
