Description
No. 33 Castle Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of squared tooled stone and features a Welsh slate roof, with brick stacks that have been rebuilt. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a plinth and a band at the first floor level. The left bay contains a blocked round-headed carriage arch with two inserted doorways that have renewed doors. The windows are 12-pane sashes with slightly projecting sills. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top, and the gables are coped with end stacks; the left stack has been rebuilt on an old stone base, while the right has been heightened in the 20th century.
At the rear, there is a slightly lower wing on the right that features a 19th-century canted timber oriel. The top floor has a 12-pane sash window and a hipped roof.
