Description
Healey Cote Farmhouse, dating from around 1700, has an adjacent outbuilding to the east that was built in the early 18th century. The farmhouse was heightened and had its windows altered in the second quarter of the 19th century. Both structures are made of squared stone with cut dressings and have Welsh slate roofs.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two wide bays. It features a left-of-centre six-panel door that is partly glazed, along with two-light mullioned windows that contain two-pane casements. All openings have chamfered surrounds, and there are traces of smaller original windows in the right bay. The gables are coped, and there are stepped-and-banded stacks at the ends.
The lower one-bay outbuilding to the right has a 20th-century casement in a blocked doorway on the left, a six-pane sash window, and a four-pane Yorkshire sash window on the first floor. It also has a coped right gable with a small end stack. The right side of the outbuilding shows the outline of an earlier high-pitched gable. At the rear of the farmhouse, there is a contemporary outshut with renewed glazing and a boarded door on the left return.
