Description

The farmbuilding range on the west side of the yard at Brinkburn Lodge dates from the early 19th century. It includes a cartshed, shelter sheds, a granary, and a bothy. The structure is made of squared stone with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings, topped with a blue slate roof. It is 1 to 2 storeys high and features six irregular bays.

At the left end, there are boarded double doors beneath a tall segmental-arched cart entrance. In the center, there is an arcade of three similar but lower arches, with two windows above and a boarded opening with pigeon holes to the right. The bothy at the right end has a boarded door with a five-pane overlight, a 16-pane sash window to the left, and a 6-pane casement window on the first floor. The building has coped gables and a banded ridge stack, which is rendered, located at the bothy. The right return of the building shows an O.S.B.M. The rear elevation features a boarded door to the cartshed, two windows for the granary, an 8-pane sash window with external iron bars, and a 6-pane casement window on the first floor of the bothy.
