Description

Brinkburn Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge built in a Gothick style. It features large coursed rubble that is rendered and pebbledashed, with ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. The central entrance consists of a boarded door with an overlight set in a four-centred arch, which is sheltered by a 20th-century porch. On the ground floor, there are 12-pane sash windows with intersecting heads, also under similar arches, while a small 20th-century window is located on the first floor to the right. The right gable is coped, and there are ridge and right end stacks with chamfered caps. The left return has two similar arched sash windows. The rear elevation features renewed 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and in a gabled half dormer, both under square heads, with all old openings framed in raised surrounds. The adjacent houses are not of special interest.
