Description

Cockshot Farmhouse is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with raising and remodeling that occurred in the mid-18th century, and an east extension added in the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly-squared stone featuring cut lintels and sills, topped with a renewed pantile roof that includes one stack rebuilt in brick.

The building has two storeys and consists of three bays on the left and one bay on the right. The left part features a part-glazed six-panel door located in the center bay, with a blocked window above it. The other windows are 12-pane sashes, some of which have been renewed, and the original eaves line is visible above the upper window sills. The roof is steeply pitched, and the gables have raised reverse-stepped coping on moulded kneelers. The end stacks have chamfered caps. The right bay, which was added in the 19th century, shows a renewed 12-pane sash with a 2-pane casement above it, and the right gable is coped with an end stack rebuilt on an old base. The left return displays a blocked first-floor door and a gable window.

There is a rendered rear porch, but it is not considered of special interest.
