Description

The headstone, located 9 metres south-west of the parish church vestry, was erected in 1917. It is made of sandstone and features a small, well-cut design with a segmental top. The inscription commemorates Private J.W. Simpson and includes the crest of the Northumberland Fusiliers above the name, with a cross positioned below.
