Description

This is a headstone dated 1746, located 5.5 metres south of the south-west corner of the Church of St. John. It is made of sandstone and features a shaped segmental top with a sunk panel that encloses an open book, which is flanked by a scythe and a self-swallowing serpent. The inscription commemorates Robert Wilkinson of Wall.
