Description

This headstone, dating from 1783, is located one metre west of the south transept of the Church of St Andrew in Corbridge Market Place. It is made of sandstone and features an open scrolly top with a central winged cherub above a recumbent hourglass. To the left of the hourglass is an open book, and to the right is a self-swallowing serpent and a scythe. The headstone has an ornamental border and includes an inscription dedicated to Sarah, the wife of John Fawcet.
