Description

Pant is a village pump dated 1815. It is constructed from squared stone and features a cast iron and ceramic inner trough. The structure is square with an iron spout on the west side and a plaque on the north side that reads: "ERECTED BY HUGH PERCY DUKE OF NORTHUMBERLAND ANNO MDCCCXV." It has a simple cornice and a tall pyramidal cap topped with a ball finial that carries an iron cross. On the west side, there is a trough made of upright slabs linked by iron clamps, which includes the inner trough, bucket-rest bars, and glinters at the outer corners.
