Description

This is a mid-18th century house located on the south side of Market Place in Corbridge. The exterior is built of coursed rubble with roughly-cut dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof and featuring an old brick stack on the left end. The house is three stories high and two bays wide. The central doorway has been renewed and contains a nine-panel passage door. To the left of the doorway is a 16-pane Yorkshire sash window with a stop-chamfered lintel. The first floor has older 16-pane Yorkshire sash windows, with one window having a single 6-pane panel that slides. Smaller 16-pane Yorkshire sash windows are present on the second floor. Inside, the ground floor fireplace has a chamfered stone surround, while a first-floor fireplace is framed by a wooden surround with a pulvinated frieze. Hinged two-panel window shutters are also present.
