Description

The Simson headstone, located approximately 10 meters south of the porch of the Church of St Martin, is a Grade II listed memorial dated 1749. It commemorates Charles Simson and is made of upright sandstone, standing about 750 millimeters high. The headstone features a shouldered and shaped head, with an inscription in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering within a fielded panel, recording the death of the infant Charles Simson in 1749.
