Description
Chafford Park is a substantial early 18th-century double-span house that incorporates an earlier timber-framed structure. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, featuring five windows. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with masked gable ends that have stone coping, along with three hipped dormers. There is a later moulded wood eaves cornice. The exterior is made of red brick with some blue headers, and it includes a first-floor band and plinth. The 18th-century sash windows have glazing bars in flush moulded frames, with those on the ground floor set under segmental brick arches. At either end of the first floor, there are plaster relief medallions of women's heads, named Sarah and Lekrecia. To the right, there is a one-storey and attic kitchen wing. Inside, the house features a large inglenook fireplace and 18th-century panelling. Chafford Park, along with the front garden wall, mounting block, brick barn, and the barn to the west, form a group.
