Description

This is a Primitive Methodist Chapel dated 1865. The original chapel was built in 1830 and rebuilt in 1865. The chapel is constructed of rubble, with a more formal coursed stone facade on the south side, featuring stone dressings and tooled-and-margined quoins. It has a slate roof. The gabled south front contains two round-arched windows with 20 panes each, featuring patterned glazing bars within raised stone surrounds. A coped gable features moulded kneelers. A round-arched entrance with a patterned fanlight is located to the right, also within a raised stone surround. An inscribed panel above the door reads 'PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL BUILT 1830 REBUILT 1865'. The rear (north) gable has two round-headed windows with brick arches.
