Description

Low Staples Farmhouse, along with a garden wall to the south-west and farm buildings to the east, dates from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble with cut quoins and dressings, while the garden wall is faced with brick on the east side. The roof of the house is slate, and the other roofs are covered with stone slate. The house features a rear wing and the farm building is in an L-plan, returning north at the east end. The farmhouse is two storeys high with three bays. It has a central six-panel door with a four-pane overlight above, a 12-pane sash window to the left, and other windows are 16-pane sashes. The gables are coped with stepped end stacks. To the left of the house is an attached garden wall. The farm building to the right has a boarded door and window; the right return shows a boarded door with a pitching door above, flanked by part-slatted windows.
