4/18 Farmbuildings adjoining to north west of Baxter Wood Farmhouse

Linked farmbuildings in 3 sections; early C19 threshing barn (with mid C19 stable attached to north) flanked by mid C19 L-plan range of barns to east (joining north wall of farmhouse) and by late Cl9 L-plan range of stables and loose-boxes to west. Coursed masonry with dressed quoins. Pantiled roofs. The group forms a U-plan stretched along its east-west axis.

2-storey threshing barn has first-floor boarded door to west return and roof, hipped over east return. Stable, with loft over, (built against north wall of barn) has 3 boarded doors to ground floor, scattered fenestration and a low- pitched roof, hipped over west return.

2-storey, L-plan range of barns to east. East section has scattered fenestration and a mid-height hen hole with stone ledge. North section has pair of large C20 sliding doors, 3 fixed lights above a steeply-pitched roof, hipped over east return.

Single-storey, L-plan range to west has boarded doors and roof, hipped over south return.

Attached gin-gang and C20 brick additions to south not of special interest. Included for group value.
