Description

Bede Rest is a house built in 1922 for the Durham Miners Association for Peter Lee. It features pebble-dash render and a Welsh slate roof, with rendered chimney stacks and pierced curved red pots. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a central projecting under gable. There is a half-glazed door to the right of the central bay, with a square window to the left and a Venetian window above. The flanking bays have canted ground-floor bay windows with prominent cornices beneath paired casements. All windows include upper glazing bars. The hipped roof has chimneys on the side slopes. This house is included for its historical interest.
