Description
Marie Jayne Shop is a shop and house built around 1836. It features a rendered exterior with painted ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof, with no visible chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has two bays, with a rounded corner on the left side. There is an internal step leading up to a flushed door with an overlight on the right. The shop on the left is adorned with Tuscan pilasters, an entablature, and a prominent cornice. The first-floor windows have renewed glazing set in lugged architraves with small mask-decorated keys, and there is a bracketed sill band. Below the eaves, there is a string course beneath a bracketed renewed gutter, and the roof is rounded over the corner. This building is included for its group value.
