Description
Colpitts Terrace consists of six houses, built in 1856, located on the west side of Alexandra Crescent in Durham and Framwellgate. The houses are constructed from coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and feature a Welsh slate roof. Each house has ashlar-corniced yellow brick chimneys topped with tall yellow pots. They are two storeys high and have two bays. The entrances have flat stone lintels above four-panelled doors with overlights, while the sash windows include glazing bars and projecting stone sills. Stone gutter brackets are present, and there is an incised stone name and date panel at the centre of No. 1. Additionally, No. 1 has a boot-scraper recess beside its door, although the recesses of the other houses are obscured by a raised footpath.
