Description

Broom Farmhouse and the outbuildings to the right are located on Front Street in Broom Park. The farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century, features late 19th-century alterations and changes to its windows. The early 19th-century outbuilding is adjacent to the farmhouse. The farmhouse has a pebble-dashed front with coursed rubble on the sides and back, topped with a Welsh slate roof and rendered brick chimneys.

The farmhouse has a symmetrical three-bay front, consisting of two storeys plus an attic. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a four-pane overlight, set within an open pedimented porch supported by slender wooden columns. On either side of the entrance are tripartite windows with moulded concrete surrounds on the ground floor. The upper storey has four-pane sash windows with projecting sills, and there is a low, flat-coped parapet above. Three dormers with segmental tops and paired, side-hung casements are present in the roof, which is steeply pitched with raised verges and end chimneys.

The long, single-storey outbuilding, attached to the right side of the farmhouse, has a two-storey gabled section on the left. It features a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows and has two blocked doorways on the right. There is a projecting 20th-century brick addition to the right, along with detached buildings at the rear that are not of special interest. The outbuilding was previously listed on its own.
