Description
Broomhill Farm House and Broomhill Cottage is a farmhouse that has been divided into two homes, dating from the 17th century. The west end was largely rebuilt in the 18th century and extended to the west in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of rendered stone rubble, with the left-hand (west) end, Broomhill Cottage, featuring slate hanging. It has a slate roof with gabled ends. The east end of Broomhill has a steeply pitched roof and a gable with hollow-chamfered stone window frames that have moulded labels. The main part of the building is a two-storey range with four windows. The right-hand side has three-light casements with glazing bars, while the left-hand side features sashes, also with glazing bars. There is a glazed and panelled door with a glazed porch. The building has large rendered chimneystacks at the ridge and a truncated stack at the east end, along with later outshuts at the rear.
