Description
Hall Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around the 17th or 18th century, possibly with an earlier core. It is constructed of rendered granite and features a slate roof with gabled ends. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with 19th-century three-light casements. There is a central glazed door flanked by a late 19th-century lean-to porch. Large rendered chimneystacks are located at both gable ends, with the stack on the west end having set-offs. At the rear, there are additions that include two hipped roofs and lean-tos, as well as a parallel gable-ended wing. Historically, Hall was the seat of Colonel Thomas Chudleigh, who was the father of Elizabeth Chadleigh, Duchess of Kingston, who lived from 1720 to 1788.
