Description

Wisdome Bridge is a road bridge over the River Yealm, dating from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with dressed granite segmental arches. The bridge features two arches with cutwaters on both sides and has refuges in the parapets above. The parapets are splayed at the ends and have chamfered granite coping. It was formerly known as Parsons or Parsonage Bridge. For further reference, see Henderson and Jervoise's "Old Devon Bridges," page 21.
