Description
Wisdome Mill and Mill House is a watermill and mill house dating from the mid-19th century. The mill house is constructed of granite with a rendered end wall and features a slate roof with gabled ends. It has two storeys and two bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars and flat red brick arches. A central rendered chimney stack is present, along with a doorway in the west end wall and pigeon holes in the gable above.
Adjoining the rear (north) is the water mill, which dates from around the 18th century and is built of stone rubble with a slate roof and gabled ends. This structure also has two storeys and a loft. The front doorway of the mill has a granite chamfered frame with a high four-centred arch, which may be a reused feature, suggesting that the mill could have an earlier origin. An iron waterwheel is located at the rear (north) of the mill.
