Description
This is an early 19th-century barn, later adapted as a coach house and now used as a garage, situated north of Garden Cottage within Windlestone Park. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar with a plinth and has a graduated Lakeland slate roof featuring a roll-moulded ridge. It is a one-storey structure of five bays, characterised by five high semicircular arches, each featuring an impost string and archivolt. The roof is hipped with a ridge ventilator. According to the owner, the rear elevation originally had matching arches, though these are now blocked. Modern boarded vehicle doors and small windows are inserted above, set within boarded blocking, in each of the front arches.
