Description
No. 27 North Road is a house, likely serving as a minister's residence for the nearby Methodist Chapel, built around 1860 and probably designed by E.R. Robson. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and features a high plinth, topped with a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys tall and has three bays, presenting a symmetrical façade. The central entrance consists of a panelled double door set within a painted stone Tuscan doorcase that has a modillioned cornice. The late 19th-century sash windows have tongue-stopped moulded surrounds and there is a sill band on the first floor, along with a gutter cornice. The roof is hipped on the right side and features an ashlar ridge chimney with a modillioned cornice.
