Description
No. 24 Allergate is a building that originally comprised two houses, dating from the 18th century with alterations from the 19th century. It features painted incised stucco with a plinth and painted ashlar dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. The structure is three storeys high and has three bays.
The entrance includes a many-panelled door with an overlight that has glazing bars, set within a Tuscan doorcase located to the right of the first bay. To the left of the door is a canted bay window. There is a window to the right that is part of a blocked shop, which has a ground-floor cornice. The upper floors have renewed sash windows under dripmoulds, each with projecting stone sills. Additionally, there are shields carved on the gutter brackets of the left bay. The roof is low-pitched over the left bay and features two end chimneys, with the one on the left being older.
