Description

No. 26 Allergate is a house dating from the early 18th century. It features incised stucco with a rendered plinth and painted ashlar dressings, topped by a pantiled roof with brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has two windows. There is a step up to the central six-panelled door, which is set in a moulded pegged surround and is covered by a stone-bracketed hood. The windows are 16-pane sashes, with those on the ground floor set in moulded boxes and featuring projecting stone sills. The steeply-pitched roof is accented by two end brick chimneys, which have been raised in newer brick.
