Description
No. 56 Stramongate is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features incised stucco with rusticated end pilasters and has a first-floor sill band. The building has a moulded cast-iron gutter and a graduated slate roof, with stone chimneys at each end. It stands three storeys high and has three bays. The entrance consists of a panelled door with a semicircular fanlight above it, flanked by a single sash window to the left and two sash windows on each of the upper floors, with the ones above the door being narrower. All sash windows are fitted with glazing bars.
