Description
Nos. 42 (Nag's Head) and 46, along with the entrance to Yard 44, is a public house and shop dating from the 18th century, with later additions and alterations. The building features wet-dashed rubble set on a chamfered plinth, and it has a moulded, cast-iron gutter supported by dentils. The roof is covered with graduated slate, and there are stone chimneys at the mid and end. The structure stands three storeys high and consists of four bays in total. To the left of the rear passage, there are two sash windows, while to the right is a 20th-century shop front (No. 46). Each upper floor has four sash windows. There is a part-glazed door to the left within the passage. This building is included for its group value.
