Description

BOWES RUTHERFORD LANE NZ 01 SW (East side) 20/13 Bowfield Cottage II Cottage. Early C19. Squared rubble. Stone-flagged roofs and stone chimney stacks. Tudor style.

2-storey, one-bay left section and one-storey, 2-bay right section. Right section: replaced narrow double doors and latticed overlight in hollow-chamfered surround with 4-centred head under hoodmould; 2-light window to right. Left section: canted stone bay window, of 1+2+1 lights, with embattled parapet. 2- light first-floor window beneath small gable with apex finial. Windows are all mullioned with double-chamfered surrounds, replaced latticed lights and hoodmoulds. Steeply-pitched roofs with overhanging eaves and verges.

Returns have external chimneys with paired diagonal shafts.

C20 rear additions are not of special interest.
